SCHOOL DRILL
TEACHERS ASK NON-MILITARY METHODS. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 12. The Technical School Teachers’ Conference adopted, though not without opposition, a remit recommending to the Government that the school drill shall be no longer und<ir the control of the Defence Department, but that it shall be non-military and shall be- under the control of the school authorities.
NEW PHYSICAL TRAINING PROPOSALS.
WELLINGTON, May 12.
The Technical School Teachers’ Conference to-day carried a remit approving of the Government’s proposals for the improvement of physical education, and also expressing the wish to submit recommendations to the Government for better physical training provisions in tha secondary and the technical schools.
