Labour Opponent for Mr Coates PROMINENT NORTHERN SETTLER. [Per Press Association]. WELLINGTON, March 9. The national executive bas endorsed the selection of Mr. P. MacGregor Stewart as the Laboiu Party’s candidate for the Kaipara seat at the general election against Rt. Hon. I G. Coates. For ten years, he has been one ol the settlers on the Whenuanui soldiers’ block at Ruawai. He is a director of the Ruawau Dairy Company, president of the Ruawau brane li of the Farmers’ Union, vice-presi-dent of the Northern Wairoa subprovincial executive of the Farmers Union, and president of the Ruawai Tii'anch of the New Zealand uabou»' Party. The national executive has endorsI ed the selection of the following sit ting members to contest electorates as follows: —
Palmerston North: Mr. J. Hodgens Timaru: Rev. C. L. Carr.
Rotorua: Mr. A. F. Moncur. Otahuhu: Mr. C. R. Petrie <M.u for Hauraki).
Wairau: Mr. E. P. Meachen
