Timaru Convent Pupils

Quite a number of former .West Coast music students, now pupils of the Convent of Mercy, Craigie Avenue, Timaru, have during the present year, scored notable successes in various examinations and competitions. Piano Duet, Under 16:—Imelda and Zita Austin 1; May Kyne and Katie Kane 2; Leona Stark and Zity Austin 3; Marie Dooley and Brenda Gawith 4; Joan Shea and Zita Austin 5. Violin Solo, Open Class:—Una Murray 1; Mona Murray 3. Violin Solo, Under 16:—Zita Austin 1.

At the Associated Board Royal Schools of Music Practical Examination, held in Timaru on November 25th, Dr. Markham Lee awarded the following marks: — Teacher’s Certificate. (Total 200, Pass 150) :—
