CROQUET CLUB'S SOCIAL. fOur Own Correspondent], On Thursday in their club rooms, members and friends of die Runanga Ladies’ Croquet Club tendered a social evening to Mrs Rhodes-Williams and Miss Collinson, of Christchurch (United Club), both of whom are well-known in croquet circles in New Zealand. The occasion of their visit was to present the banner won by the Runanga Club during the past season, which annually is competed for among the West Coast clubs. Those present were Miss Collinson, Mesdames Rhodes-Williams, Allen Smith, Hill, Wilson, McCracken, Welch, Kaye, Whitehead, J. Braithwaite, Erikson, Boote, Crowe, Syme, Cullen, Robertson, W. Wright, Gillaly, Maskill, Swan, Griffiths, senr., Howard, J. Bell, Dewar, Jackson, Southward, Shackley, Griffiths, junr., W. Murray, S. Braithwaite and Jenkinson. Items were rendered by the following, and were very much appreciated:—Mrs S. Braithwaite, recitation; Mrs Shackley and Mrs Bell songs; and a play, “All Gave Her Daughter Away.” The bridesmaid was Miss Rew-Barb, and the best man Mr Enfield Market; the wedding was performed oy the Rev. Mr Artichoke of Jerusalem. The artists in this playette were Mrs J. Bell (bride), Mrs Griffiths, sen. (bridegroom), Mrs Erikson (bride's mother), Mrs Shackley (bridesmaid), Mrs Hill (best man), Mrs Jackson-Southward (parson). .After the wedding “breakfast”, the evening concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
