CELTIC CLUB’S BALL

SPRINGBOKS AS GUESTS.

Schaef’s Hall was packed for the Celtic Club’s Complimentary Ball on Wednesday evening, when the members of the South African team were the guests of honour. The function, which attracted dancing patrons from all parts of the West Coast, was one of the most enjoyable balls held this season, and resulted in a good financial return. The floor was crowded and good music was supplied by Ron Stopforth and his Marina Dance Band. The arrangements for the function were successfully carried out, the decorations, done in green and gold (the colours’of the South Africans) and red and white (the Combined team’s colours), being especially effective. These were the work of Mr. A. S. Hol croft. Mr. P. Coll was M.C., and dancing was enjoyed until the early hours. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Mr. G. R. Harker and a delightful supper was favouraoly commented on by patrons. The hostesses were Mesdames W. I
