(Received August 24, 7.55 p.m.) WASHINGTON, August 23. The Soviet Embassy here announced that Sir H. Wilkins reached the seventy-eighth degree of latitude when fog and head winds forced him back to Coppermine River. He will resume the search as soon as it clears up.
