Coffey, Wellington, arrived yesterday on a visit to Greymouth. Mrs. P. Curran returned yesterday from Christchurch. Mr. O. Isdell returned yesterday from Christchurch. Miss M. H. Mulholland, arrived yesterday from Christchurch. Mr. W. H. Robson arrived yesterday from Christchurch. Mrs. W. F. Tracy, Christchurch arrived yesterday on a visit to Miss M. Lewis. Mr. C. Fiveash, Wellington, arrived yesterday on a holiday visit to the West Coast. Mrs J. Phillips of Lyttleton, is at present visiting her mother. MrsHarris, Manchester House. She is
accompanied by her daughter. Mr B. Heyward, Christchurch, is at present on a holiday visit to his mother, Mrs N. Peterson, Clifford St., Blackball. Mr. N. W. Gale, assistant manager of John Chambers and Son, Ltd.. Christchurch, arrived yesterday on a visit to the West Coast. Rev Fathers Maher S.M. and Hogan S.M. St Bede’s College, Christchurch, arrived by yesterday’s express.
Mr. A. H. Crawley, President of the Nelson Rugby Union will arrive by air to-day to attend the Rugby match. Mrs. A. Bettie and Miss P. Bettie, who have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Hignett, Karoro, left yesterday on return to Christchurch. Right Rev. Dr. J. A. Kempthorne, Bishop of Polynesia, arrived at Auckland on Monday by the Niagara from Suva, accompanied by Mrs. Kempthorne. Advice has been received at Dunedin of the death of Mr. S. G. Ware, of Melbourne. He was private trainer for Mr. G. J. Barton, the racehorse owner.
A Sydney cablegram stated that following her arrival by the Awatea, on Monday, Miss Joan Bull, of Christchurch, was married to Doctor Stewart Fitzgerald, of Sydney.
The wrestlers, Messrs Blomfield and J. Woods, arrived yesterday afternoon in Greymouth by the express from Christchurch. Mrs Biomfieid accompanied her husband.
An Alexandria cablegram stated that it is understood that the engagement of King Farouk of Egypt will be officially announced, to the six-teen-year-old daughter of Youssouf Bey Zulficar, a high Palace official.
Passengers by yesterday’s express to Christchurch included: Mrs. W. Ellis Mrs. M. Crankhaw, Miss T. Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Beary (on return), Mr. F. Oakes (on return), Miss Hogan (to Christchurch), Mrs. E. Hay (to Auckland).
A London cablegram stated that the late Duchess of Bedford, who after leaving her home for a flight on the East Coast of England on March 25, and was never seen again, left £355,779. The Duchess bequeathed £3OOO and her aeroplane to her private pilot, and £5,000 to the Guild of Air Pilots and Navigators.

_ Mr. K. J. McKinnon, Supervisor in South Westland, has been appointed senior Supervisor • in charge of gold prospecting work in the Grey and Westland Mining Districts, pending the permanent appointment of a mining engineer to succeed Mr. Gordon Jupp. Mr. Jupp leaves Greymouth to-morrow en route to Malaya where he has received an appointment as mining engineer.
