The death occurred yesterday afternoon, at Greymouth, of Mr. Alexander A. Robertson, who formerly resided at Oamaru, and had latterly been in the employ of the Public Works Department in this district. A native of Scotland, he was 32 years of age and had been ten years in New Zealand. The funeral takes place to-morrow at Oamaru.

The funeral of the late Patrick Raleigh Mulcare took place yesterday morning in the presence of a large gathering of friends. Many local body re- • presentatives were present. The Grey Hospital Board was represent by Mr J. Smeaton (chairman), together with members of the Board and of the Grey County Council, and. Grey Electric Power Board. Mr James O’Brien, M.P., was also present. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Catholic Church, Ngahere, by Rev. Father P. O’Meaghan, who also read the burial prayers at the Blackball Cemetery. -

The death of a well known pioneer of the district, Mr. Charles O’Rourke, occurred at Greymouth vesterday. A native of Enniskillen, Ireland, and 83 years of age, the deceased was unmarried. He worked for very many years in the employ of the Railway Department, having been engaged fifty years ago at the inception of the Midland Railway construction, while he retired from work about seven years ago. Deceased leaves a sister in the United States, and two nieces and a nephew residing In Christchurch. The funeral takes place to-morrow morning, leaving Kells’ Hotel, Cobden, at 9.15 o’clock for St. Patrick’s Church.
