E. L. Clark’s Plane BOUGHT BY GOVERNMENT. [Per Press Association]. WELLINGTON, August 11. The Percival Gull aeroplane in which Mr. E. L. Clark, of North Canterbury. flew out from rmgland, has been purchased by the Government according to the statement by the Minister of Defence, Hon. F. Jones. Mr. Jones said that the machine had been acquired to facilitate the inspections of air staff and trainees. Aerial Defence N.Z. ACTIVITY. WELLINGTON, August 11. Mr. Savage commented on the Sydney cable re Sir A. Parkhill’s statement, that many details defence co-operation between Australia and New Zealand will be settled on Mr. Nash’s return. Mr. Savage said that, as far as it Was possible to do so, New Zealand was co-operating with Australia on the question of defence. “We are not waiting for the return of Mr. Nash,” he daid. “We are going full blast in our reorganisation of our defence forces. Our objective is not to spend millions blindly, but to spend whatever we have to spend intelligently. I am not too sure that has been done in the past.”
