The Gillespie’s Beach return, which was delayed because the dredgemaster was ill, was 470 z 17dwts for 112 hours. WAIPAPA BEACH. ' DUNEDIN, August 9. The Waipapa Beach return is 240 z sdwts for 174 hours. OKARITO. DUNEDIN, August 9. The Okarito dredge reports a return of lOoz 2dwts for 125 hours, mostly in tailings. NEW RIVER. The following is the official return of gold won by the Now River Company’s dredge during the week ended August 5:—270z of gold from 11,000 yards treated in 121 hours’ dredging time. ALEXANDER. The report for July stated: For the month, No. 6 Crosscut has been extended 114 feet, making the total
length 591 feet. The country has been good for driving but on several occasions has been making a lot of water. The face is now dry. Stoping has been carried on as usual, an average of nine men being employed at this work. All stoping faces above No. 5 Level look well, the full length of the block. In the stopes above the intermediate the lode averages about 4 feet in width. RIMU PLAT. For the clean-up period ending August 9, 281.02 ozs. of gold were recovered from 47,038 yards in 111 hrs. 51 mins.
