MELBOURNE EPIDEMIC
INFANTILE PARALYSIS Still Spreading [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received August. 6, 11.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, August 6. There have been sixteen cases of infantile paralysis reported this week. They bring Lilt.* total to fifty-eight, six of which have been fatal. Cases of the disease are now occurring in all of the suburbs. The schools in each place are being closed as the cases appear. Ono ease has been reported in the country, forty-live miles from Melbourne. The country residents are now appealing to the authorities to prevent children from being allowed to travel from the affected areas.
