The death occurred at Lewisham Hospital, Christchurch, yesterday morning, of Mrs Priscilla Mahoney, of Ruskin Street, Christchurch. Deceased, who had been in ill-health for some time, is the mother of Mr Arthur Mahoney, captain of the New Zealand hockey team at present touring Australia. Another son, Leslie, resides in Christchurch. Mrs J. E. Coffey, of the Railway Hotel, mouth, is a sister of deceased.

A Wellington wire states that a party of forty-two farmers, including several West Coasters, left Wellington last night by the Wanganella for Sydney, their purpose being to make a study of farming l conditions'in Australia, while enjoying a holiday in New South Wales and Queensland. A further party of fourteen will sail from Auckland by the Awatea to join them in Sydney. The main body of the party were yesterday farewelled bv the Tourist Department at a luncheon, at which representatives of the Department and of the Farmers’ Union were present. The funeral of the late Mrs Mary Davies, widow of the late F. G. Davies, of Greymouth, whose death occurred at Auckland on Saturday last, took place yesterday afternoon at the Karoro Cemetery. The services at the residence of Mr L. Mercer, Cowper Street, and at the graveside, were conducted by Rev. P. H. Pritchett.
