INVITATION TO SYDNEY. [Per Press Association] , WELLINGTON, July 30. A team representative of Dominion surfmen is to go to Australia next February, the Council of the New Zealand Lifesaving Association having accepted an invitation to send a team of ten men and a manager. It is desired that the team should make appearances at the Saturday afternoon carnivals on February 19 and February 26 and at a night carnival at Coogee. What the Australian body is prepared to offer has not yet been definitely settled; it is definite that it will pay all accommodation expenses for the'team in Australia and it will also give some assistance in the matter of transport from and to New Zealand. It is hoped to have teams representing the various Australian States present. Acceptance of the invitation is subject to the completion of financial arrangements. It has been decided to hold the New Zealand championships at Christchurch on January 29 and January 30. + K Nominations for the team are to be made by clubs through their district associations and are to be before the council by December 31.
