CHANNEL SWIM

NOTTS MAN’S SUCCESS. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] LONDON, August 4. A Nottingham man, Tom Blower, aged 23, whom the pilot describes as a “human torpedo and the fastest Channel swimmer I have piloted,” opened the Channel swimming season. He started from Gris Nez at 4 a.m. and landed at Dover at 6.26 p.m. The conditions were favourable. Blower's official time was 13 hours 29 minutes.
