SCHOOL SPORTS

BASKETBALL AND RUGBY. Greymouth Technical School secured good wins over Hokitika High School at basketball and rugby when teams met yesterday afternoon. The basketball resulted: Greymouth 22, Hokitika 9, the home team being superior all round. Leading by 18 points to nil at half time, the Greymouth Technical rugby team met stiffer opposition in the second spell, neither side being able to score. For the winners, tries were scored by G. Parry, White, E. Anderson, and W. Kibble. R. Parry kicked a field goal and converted a try. Mr. G. Ferguson, was referee. The Hokitika teams left later for Reefton, where they will play the local High School.
