SWIMMING
N.Z. COUNCIL DECISIONS. [Per Press Association] CHRISTCHURCH, August 5. A rebate of all affiliation fees payable to the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association for last season by the constituent centres was approved at a meeting to-riight of the Council of the Association, on the recommendation of a sub-committee that had been set up to consider what action should be taken. Only one centre had,.-paid affiliation fees for last season, it was reported, and the fees that would be remitted amounted to about £l7O. The New Zealand senior swimming championship meeting will be held in New Plymouth on January 8, 10, and 12, according to a decision made tonight by the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. The dates originally fixed were January 5,6, and 8, and the change was made at the request of the Taranaki Centre. The Council also decided to recognise as a Dominion intermediate girls’ record the performance of Miss A. J. McDonald, of Invercargill, in swimming 100 yards in 77 4-5 sec, the record having been created in June at Invercargill.
