This morning, as the Port Waikato was coming into port, a seaman named R. H. Watt, thirty-one, a native of Auckland, fell overboard, and was drowned. DUNEDIN MUNICIPAL HOUSING LOAN. DUNEDIN, August 3. . ' A further loan of £lOO,OOO for municipal housing was authorised by the Dunedin City Council, last evening, following a loan of a similar sum in May. It was claimed by Councillor
Silverstone that the Council nad given owners the most liberal terms in New Zealand, and that the municipality could not suffer loss. Some councillors suggested a pause till the success of the Government’s local housing scheme was demonstrated.
