The President of the local branch of the Workers’ Union requested this action. The branch decided that the Executive meet on rece’pt of replies to its requests. Mr S. The death occurred this morning of a very old and respected resident, M r s Margaret Stapleton, at the ago of 86 years. A native .of Durham, England, he badi been 75 years in New Zealand, and GO years in Hokitika. She leaves three daughters (Miss Florence Staple, ton) Hokitika.
