N.Z. UNION. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON,. June 3. The following reinstatements were • granted by the N-Z. Rugby Union: — G- W. Holland, J> Karaka. T. Ewe, LB. Spratt, D- II- Miller (Auckland); V. ’£’• Bailey (Taranaki); S- Poi, N. L. Robertson, J. Ponga (Hawke’s Bay); W- R- Douglas., M. J. Parrist, S- J- L- Bramble (Wellington); F. C. Harper, R- V- Kilburn (Canterbury); E- J- McHugh, R- J. Henham, H. Dowling, A. D. Logie, L- Martyn, J. W- Dixon (Greymouth). The Canterbury Union wrote aS following: “Referring to your circular letter regarding the writing of articles for the press, my committee would appreciate your ruling in the case of a member of a club publishing a book dealing with the game.” The letter was considered in committee, and Mr Dean later explained that so long as a Rugby player or official did not refer to current Rugby, no objection could be taken to his writing a book about <th e game- By-' law 46 of the Rugby Football Union reads: “No member of the committee of a union and, unless engaged in the .profession of journalism, no committeeman on any constituent body or club under the jurisdiction of a union or a referee or player, shall write, give information, or an interview for the press or broadcast on current Rugby football for remuneration.” Mn Dean said the New Zealand Union expected this rule to be carried out in its entirety.
