Grave concern as to a possibility of B Clas s radio stations finding it impracticable to carry on was expressed at a! meeting of the Commerce Chamber to-day- ’ The presidenit, Mr W- RFee, said it would be a relief to the people of New Zealand if th e Government would give a definite assurance that rights of free speech over the air were to be safeguarded. ELECTROCUTION ON FARMNEW PLYMOUTH,, Juno 3Earl Doughty, aged 22, was electrocuted while working jm. a farm near Eltham to-day. With others, he was felling tnees. The branch of a tree, in falling, wa s caught in' power lines, and dragged a wire down.. Doughty took hold of the wire to free i|t- He was killed instantly. Doughty’s mother lives in Christchurch. THAMES, June 3. Thieves broke into the Kerepehi store, owned by A. P. Innes, some time last evening or this morning. They used explosive on the safe, escaping with more than £3O. Entrance was gained at the side windows. Sacks of chaff were used co deaden the sound of the explosion, which wrecked the small safe and the office. The intruders left the store by the front, leaving the door open. It is understood that a man living in the vicinity, who was going .home late, saw a car parked near the shop.
