LABOUR PARTY

I INANGAHUA JUNCTION BRANCH.

Another very successful euchr e party was held at Lyell on Saturday last, by the Inangahua Junction Branch of the New Zealand Labour Party. Again there was a large attendance and some of th e intending players could not be accommodated, -owing to lack of space, but all wore able to join iu the dance which followed. The winners of the prizes were:— Ladies' Ist (whistling kettle, donated by Mr D. Orsbourn), Mrs Baker; men’s Ist, Mr J. Fox (after playing off with M'essr'i T: March, L. McFarlane and A. Baker); ladies’ consolation (box of stationery, donated by Mr M. Win. Stanley), Mrs Whitehead, after playing off with Mrs Stone and Miss Ilar'ris; nien’si consolation (bottle of Dewar’s whisky, donated’ by Mr J. Ricketts), Mr S'. May.

The ladies of the social e onnnittee, provided an excellent supper, after which the evening was spent in dancing. The music was supplied by Mr J. Whi'tnall, assisted by Mr R. Gussette; extras being played by Mr P. Hurley. The duties of M.C., were in the capable hands of Mr A. Rooney. The senior Vice-President (Mr A. Rooney) presented the prizes, and in a short, but spirited address, thanked tlios o »prespn’t for their support, and expressed the hope of seeing all the same faces again at the next party, to be -’held on June 12th.
