(Our Own Correspondent). REEFTON, June 2. Mrs C. Buist has been appointed as temporary teacher at Reefton D.ll. School, vice Mr Golding, who has re. signed. Mr and Mrs G. Bennett left yesterday for Christchurch, en route fo >' Temuka, on a short holiday. Rev, W. Bell, of Takaka, who has been on a visit to the West Coast, left on return this morning. Mr C. Murcott, of Canterbuiy, formerly a well-known farmer of Rotokohu, luangahua Valley, is on a visit to Reefton. The many friends of Mr and Mrs T. R. Watson Will be pleased to learn fhat Mrs 'Watson is progressing well in the local hospital, after her recent operation. Th 0 rainfall for the month of May in Reefton, as taken at the Rcefton School of Mines, was 8.26 inches. The number of days o n which rain fell was 22, and' the maximum fall, 1.32 inches, fell on the Bt'h. May. The annual report of the New Zealand Crippled Children’s Society, Canterbury and Westland Branch, is to hand, for the year ending March 31st. It states:—W o are indebted to Mrs L. R. Mr J. Bennett, engaged at the Grey Saddle deviation works, had an accident ;as he was knocking off work las: evening. He was unhooking a horse from a sleigh, and as the sleigh was released it fell on his right hand, severing the middle finger above the second joint.
