Service at Canton Island (Aus. & N.Z. Cable'Assn). SYDNEY, June 1A radio message from the Solar Expedition says: “All are well and becoming acclimatised. The heat and living conditions are not so severe as was anticipated. We arc using wreck timber! flor firewood, in an improvised sited stove, made from a mast carried half a mile apparently, by a hurricane, . j ' “This afternoon for an hour and ahalf,; the Americans broadcast a dedi cation service, a description of life in Canton, and personal messages from members of both parties. Sailors from both warships gathered before the memorial day monument, a concrete pyramid four feet high. A service by Father McNally and prayer by Captain Hellweg were dedicated to ‘all the men of all ships, and all the men. of good faith who had gone before us anZ made our progress possible.’ ”
