Looks Well: Epis looked well and ran improving races at Washdyke. Such latitude is merely an additional handicap to wellmannered 1 horses. Long Odds: Taking the only winning double ticket sold in the members’ enclosure at a meeting of the Rangoon Turf Club on -March G,- one of its oldest members, Mr R- E- Craig, received for his 7s-6d! investment the sum of £lB7B- This wa s the last meeting of the season and Mr Craig was about to leave Burma-on-his retirement- This is one of the largest dividends recorded anywhere. , * i . Jolly Beggar,i has-worked soundly at Te Rapa a ud Ellerslie in company with Royal Limbnd and Tout le MondeJolly Beggar i s a true stayer, and although he will have to establish a weight-carrying record for the race since the distance was extended to two and -a half miles in 1907 to score with 11-13, his prospects appear brightA Stayer: On the flat Tout le Monde was a better stayer than most of those engaged in the Great Northern Hurdles and on the score of breeding he has much to recommend him- Foaled in 1929, he is by Limond from Aspic, by Polymelus firoin Jelly, by Isinglass from Lady
Ailsa, by Ayrshire, he has good breeding and may prove one of the best of the field over the long journey- His owner-trainer, J- Fryer, prepared Stanchion, another son of Limond, to win the Great Northern Hurdles in 1935Grateful: Grateful looks none the worse for his race at To Rapa, and should show to advantage in his Ellerslie engagements.
