N.Z. TEAM To Compete in All Sports (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 26. The chairman of t’he New Zealand Olympic ami British .Empire Games Association, Air H. MeConnick, stated to-day that present indications pointed t 0 New Zealand .sending a team ot approximately sixty competitors to the British Empire Games, in Sydney, next February. On this basis, the National As-oeiations would be asked to contribute £2O towards the- expenses of each of their nominees, the balance of the expenses t 0 be borne by the Olympic Association.

“In addition to the competitors/' said Air AlcCormick, “we propose sending a manager, and, if necessary, a chaperon, and their expenses will be met by the Olympic Association. We are suggesting to the National Associations that they appoint, at, their own expense, sub-managers for their own section of* the team, and also, any masseurs o r trainers they desire to' accompany their nominees. The amount that , the National Association will be asked to contribute towards the expenses of each of their nominees hinges on the numerical strength of the team. The Association is require ! to advise the Australian authorities bv Alay 31st, of the sports in which New Zealand will be represented. It has been decided to write, stlating that New Zealand expects to be taking part in all of the- sports on the programme, namely, athletics (track and field), cycling, boxing, rowing, sculling, swim, ming, diving, wrestling and lawn bowls. It was announced to-day that a contribution of £5O is to be made by the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association to the King George A 7. Alemorial Fund.

It is understood that there- are good prospect's of the Canadian athletic team, which will be visiting Australia for the British Empire Games, next February, being available for a torn of New‘Zealand, after the Games. The, question of issuing an invitation to the Canadians to make such a- four was raised at a meeting of the Executive of the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association. It was decided to seek the views of the affiliated national associations on the project. N.Z. Cricket Team SHIP DELAYED. NAPIER, April 26. . There is a probability that the New Zealand cricketers, who are aboard the “Arawa,” will not arrive in England in time to play their first match of their tour, against the Alaori Cricket Club. Mention o f this is contained in a letter from Carson, to a Napier friend. The letter states; “The “Arawa” has been delaved, and' she is now proceed, ing at reduced speed. Those on board consider that the vessel will reach England on the day prio'r t° that fixed for the. Surrey match.” A Napier shipping agent confirmed the fact -that the “Arawa” was three days late- at Panama. <
