April 22The fact that five hundred Californian quail were coming to Australia for breeding, and ultimately for sporting purposes, led to a controversy whether the bindfe were likely to prove a pest to agriculturists. The consensus of opinion was that the birds were likely to 1 prove a menace, with the result that the Federal Government has prohibited their importation.
