(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 23. The weather report and forecast are s follows:— General situation: Another and poslibly the last of the present series of ery intense westerly depressions is rossing the Dominion to-day. A modrate anti-cyclone covers south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds strong westerly to Outh.westierly of gale force in many prices, becoming more generally southerly by to-morrow. . Seas' (N.Z. waters): Rough to high on the West Coast and in Cook and Foveaux Straits; moderate at first in the eastern coastal areas, but rathei rough Vo rough off shore. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong southwesterly winds t 0 gales with rough to high seas, but later conditions gradually moderating. Wea then: Cold, isq'ually and changeable, with passing showers, frequent, and ’heavy ip the districts with a westerly aspect, and in the southern part of South Island, and extending occasionally to other parts. Further snow is probable in the ranges, and hail in places.
