THE WEATHER

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 22. The weather report and forecast are as follows:—

General situation; A vigorous westerly disturbance is crossing the Dominion, but the pressure is rising ove: the Tasman Sea. Forecast; Winds north-west to west, erlv at first from Cook Strait northwards; southerlies thence southwards ■ South.westerlies or southerlies are becoming, general during to-night, moder, ate to strong generally, but still of gale force at places. Seas (N.Z. waters); Rough to high on the west coast! of the North Island; rather rough to rough generally elsewhere .

Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong southwesterly winds t 0 gales; rough to high seas. Conditions are gradually moderating. Weather: Changeable and squally, with passing showers in most districts. Some snow is probable on the ranges, and hail on parts of the coast. Condtions are beginning to moderate, however, during to-morrow.
