HARIHARI NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent). About forty members of the Southland farmers passed through here en route to the Glaciers on Thursday. The local branch of the Farmers’ Unjon provided lunch in the Public Hall 'for the visitors. Air A. Handisides, who received injuries here <> ne day last week through a heavy door falling on him, is progressing favourably in the AAestland Hospital. Air J. Harris, of Te Kinga, who passed away in the Grey River Hospital one day last week, was a brother of Airs James Alinehan, of Mount Hercules. The local cemetery fence is receiving a coat of paint, and th e war memorial plots, numbering twelve, are also being renovated. Mr C. Neville, Stock Inspector, of Greymouth, is on a visit, to South West land.

Rev. Father Joyce, parish priest of Ross, will pay this part of the parish a visit on Friday and Saturday. Alessrs J. J. McKay and IWj. Searle, junr., have been on a visit to Greymouth.

Mr G. Rowley, who had the misfortune to have his store burnt down here a few weeks ago, intends starting, to rebuild right away. Alost of the timber is on the ground. | Air A. Gibb, of Christchurch, has arrived here to act as accountant on behalf of the N.Z.R. road service.
