CONDITIONS NEED IMPROVEMENT.

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 22

A large deputation of sharemilkers, epresenting Auckland, Wellington and Taianaki, intioduced by .the Hon. TBrindle, and led by Alr'c. Gough, wait, cd on tlie acting-Minister of Lands, Hon. P. C. Webb, on Tuesday, requesting the early calling of a conference of the employers and t>he sharemilkers, with a view to reaching standard agreements throughout New Zealand. The Minister gave a very favourable aeply. Air Webb stated that he had no idea that the present conditions of employment for .sharemilkers were so ba 1. The deputation met in a conference which sat tfor two days, and finally re. solved to form a New Zealand Sharemilkers’ Association, pending the promised legislation, which will give them a standing under the I.C. & A. Act, as an industrial union.

Officers were elected, and organisers were appointed for each district. Mr C. Gough was elected honorary National Secretary. Claims were drawn up providing for Iwo standard agreements throughout New Zealand, and rules were adopted for (he newlyformed Association. The organisers will begin their duties in their dis. trictls immediately.
