At the funeral of the late James McGinley yesterday morning at Katoto Cemetery, there was a large attendance, the cortege including representatives of the Greymouth Borough Council and other; local bodies, Waterside Workers’ Union, Foresters’ Lodge, and other organisations- The pall-bearersi were Messrs P- Deere (Fire Brigade), B- J- Williams (Borough Council), A- Aiderton (Waterside Workers) and W- Bond (Foresters’ Lodge). Requiem Mass was celebrated at St Patrick’s Church by Bev Father F- Kelly. Bev Father; A- Gregory conducted the service at the graveside-

Four members of the staff of the Grey Hospital, who leave this week upon accepting positions elsewhere, were farewelled at~the Nurses’ Home by a large gathering of the staff. Those leaving are Sisters E. Malone (who, has been appointed Home Sister at the Palmerston North Hospital, (B-. Fyson and M. Geddis, and Staff Nurse M. Taafe (who is going to Thames Hospital). Presentations were mtade to each of the departing guests by Sister A Becker (for the Sisters), and Nurse M. Mahoney (on behalf of the nursing staff). The speakers voiced regret nt the departures and ‘ extended best wishes t 0 the guests. Suitable replies were made, and supper brought a pleasant function to a close.
