(Our Own Correspondent). HOKITIKA, April 15. The m.v. Hokitika arrived at Wellington this morning at. 7.50 o’clock from Hokitika. The m.v. Gael arrived from Okuru about 11 o’clock this morning and is expected to sail for Wellington to-morrow at noon. At the annual meeting of St. Alary’s Debating Club u Air Al. Aloore presided over a fair attendance. The annual report was adopted. The election of ofiic. ers for the coming year resulted in the. following: —(President, Air Al. Aloore; Vice-President, Air AV. Apologies for absence were recevieu from A. Samson and T. .Stuart. Mr T. Ashley reported that the memorial plot was nearly completed. A request for u donation for a Coronation Day schools’ gala bv the Otira branch was referred to AVestland County Council. Remits were approved for the annual conference, including one favouring ot a travelling organiser. Arrangements made for canvassing country districts oi Kokatahi, Koiterangi and Arahura for produce, and arrangements made for a trip for the Executive to Hanhari next Sunday, to meet returned men. Sales of poppies were arranged. It was decided to ask Captain J. G. Johnston, E.D., to take charge of the Anzac'Parade, and to co-operate with Captain Hutchison of the- Volunteers. Major J. Abel is t 0 give the address at the Anzac service. Kiwi senior rugby team to play Pirates on Saturday is as follows:R. Wieblitz, J. Mason, D. Chinn, Oldham, L. Leslie, D. Griffen, C. Kelly.. 1. The third grade competition opens on April 24th. Westland; Rugby Sub. Union at its weekly meeting, decided- to have representation on the junior selection committee, and to have the AVestland v. Grey junior representative fixture plaved before the AVest Coas.-Bullei junior fixture. . The AVinter Sports Committee, Christ, church, are running a special train from Christchurch on Coronation Day. Alay 12th, arriving at Hokitika at 9.30 a.m., and departing at 5.30 p.m. The AVestland Rugby .Sub-Union is seeking Christchurch nominations for its seven, a.side tournev on Coronation Day.
