THE WEATHER
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON', April 15. The weather report and forecast are as follows: — General situation: A shallow depres. sion extends across the north Tasman Sea. An anti-cyclone covers south, eastern Australia and tho south Tas. man Sea. Pressure gradients, however, have remained very slight over the whole'of the Nw Zealand area. Forecast: Winds light to moderate, variable southerlies predominating, and backing later to north-easterly over the northern portion of the Nortn Island. Seas (N.Z. waters): Slight to mod. erate. Eastern Tasman iSea: North-westeny wind's in the northern portion, and easterly to south-easterly winds in the southern portion. Winds light to moderate generally, with slight to moderate seas. Weather; Mainly fair in the districts with a westerly aspect; elsewhere, for the most part, cloud}’ to overcast, with showers or misty rain in places. Temperatures: Cool to moderate generally, and' cold in the eastern and southern portions of the South Island.
