Following a conference between President Roosevelt hud the Governors of six of the large industrial States, ineluding New York, Ohio land Illinois, it has been announced that the Federal Government will delay its plan radically to reduce the Works Promotion Administration allowance. The Governors had insisted that their States would be unable to bear the unemployment relief burden without the continuance of Federal aid. The suspensions were planned for June.
