(Our Own Correspondent). REEFTON, March 5. The annual meeting of the Reeftou ranch of the N.Z. Labour Party was eld on Thursday. Mr E. Riley was i the chair, and l there was a fair atince. The Chairman, before comlencing business, referred to the loss he Party had sustained in the death f the late Mr Frank Rolle,rson, and ioved a vote of condolence with his elatives. This was carried by all landing in silence. The balance-sheet ras read and adopted as satisfactoiy. 'he following officers were elected or the incoming year:—President, Mr 1. Riley; Secretary, Mr J. McGregor; lommittee, Messrs |P. Straclhan, L. McLane. T. Bennett, F. Wright and' W. litchell; Auditor, T. McKenzie. Final rrangements were made for Mr C. L. lunter, M.P., for Manawatu, to speak t the Criterion Theatre on Sunday, larch 21st, at 8.15 p.m., and also for ,Ir Hunter to visit Lewis Pass, and ddress a meeting on Sunday, Marea Ist, at 11 a.m. .It was decided to ake up a collection at both meetings o defray expenses. Messrs E. Riley nd W. Bennett were appointed orgausers for Tawhai P.W.I). works, and Messrs L. McKane and P. Strachan or Maruia Road, and Mr J. Cairns or Lewis Pass Road. At the eonclu. ion of the meeting, the Chairman extressed the opinion that the Branch could have a record membership this 'ear, judging by the enthusiasm shown t this meeting. . Mr Allan Hannah, of Mai Mai reeived injuries that necessitated him >eing brought to Reefton Hospital. He vas attaching chains to a log when he horse he was using became started and bolted, and Hannah’s leg be;ame entangled in the chain. He was [ragged through some underscrub and he log rolled over his shoulder, in. licting injuries. He was reported tolay as doing well.
