Fox, J.(Pt, a first offender, who described himself as a “tourtstp” and intimated his in. tention to complete his travels, by carrying his s wag to Wellington, appeared on a charge of ‘drunkenness. He ivaj convicted and discharged. Road Race: Inf conjunction with the Westport Athletic Club’s meeting to-morrow evening, a cycle road race to :S'ergeant’s Hill, and back has been arranged. Miss Ruby McDonald, who has earned quite a reputation a s a violinist in New Zealand, Australia and America. entertained a fairly large audience at a recital at St Canice’s Hall last evening. Her interpretations were much appreciated and were greeted) with rounds of applause. Miss B. Pullar proved an able accompanist. The programme was as follows; Schon Romaffn (Fritzl Kreisler); Waltz in A Flat (Brahms); Waltz (J. N. Women's Institute: There was a large attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Westport branch of the Women’s Institute, presided over by Mrs Wilkie.
