Elderly Woman Killed STRUCK BY TRAIN. AUCKLAND, December 18. Struck by a train going from Auckland’ to Swanson, when she was at- ■ tempting to cross the line the Morningside and Mount Albert stations, an elderly woman, named, Christina Still. a widow, . aged 60, was thrown 4 against a rock-hoMmg wall and was killed. She suffered severe head and body injuries and was dead when medical assistance reached her a few minutes after the accident. When she was almost across the line, Mrs Sdlll was hit by the tram which left Auckland Station at 2.35 p.m., and was a few minutes from Morningside Station. There is an incline at the scene of tne accident, and the- train was going fairly slowly. Sne was thrown about «'x feefi along the line .and. fell against a bank.

The death occurred to-day of Frederick Tayles, single, aged’ 20, who was one of the two injured when an engine collided with a truck at the Tweed Street railway crossing on Uecemher 10'h. December 18. Apparently endeavouring to climb ou‘' of his cot during the night, a thirteen-months-old boy, Stanly Nathan Siddells, whose parents resided in Kbith Street, was found dead, this morning, with his head stuck in the railing of the cot. The child was found by his sistier, and a doctor who was summoned could only pronounce life extinct. After evidence of identification by the father, Robert Siddells, the inquest was adjourned.
