EASIER PRICES Fat Stock Lower LARGE OFFERING OF SHEEP AND LAMBS. (Ou r Own Correspondent). CHRISTCHURCH, October 21. There was a larger offering of store sheep at. Addington to-day, but values were confined to reasonable limits. The very best grades showed a slight firmwhilst all others were easier. There was a large offering of spring lambs, totalling 459 head; 5 allies dropped from 3s to 3s fid each. Competition was never keen, many excellent lots selling at very unsatisfactory figures. Top price was 2Ss 7d; good prime 25s 6d to 27s 3d; prime medium 23s fid to 25s 3d; light 21s fid to 23s fid; plain from 20s 3d; There was a substantial increase in the mutton yarding of about 4,500 head, a large proportion being shorn. Values were easier in sympathy with other fat stock departments, there being a general easing to Is 6d per head. Beef comprised a slightly smaller offering, the quality being oxceptionallv good. Tt was a disappointing sale, the wanner weather being inclined to effect the market. Together with the lower values ruling for lamb, heavy cattle sold draggingly -with an easing to 25s pe r head: light prime steers being 15s easer; best heifers 10s down, with several passings. Vendors were declining to meet the market. Verv little heavy beef exceeded 31s 6d per hundred. There was a medium offering of fat p : gs. with an all-round easing in porkers. whilst baconers were firm late rates. Med’um porkers sold for 32s fid to 36s fid; heavy 37s fid t° 41- 9 6d; extra to 48s fid: average baconers 52s fid to 59s fid; heavy £3 2s fid to £ 3 14s Gd: extra to £4 9s fid.
