BIG STEAL ALLEGED
N.S.W. Unemployment Fund AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) October 21, 9.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, October 21. On the resumption of the Legislative! Assembly to-day, Air J. F. Lang, the Leader of the Opposition, moved a motion of' no-confidence. The motion accuses the Government of falsifying the public accounts, and of stealing practically the whole of the Uncmployod Fund in order t; carry on Government' services, and t" provide for heavy remissions in taxation to the wealthy concerns. The Hou9e was in an uproar.
The Premier, Air Steveps, replying to Mr Lang, said that during its four years of office;, the Government had collected in relief tax and umge s P l * and special income tax £23.405.999. and that during the same period the Government, haj spent under unemployed relief, from revenue and loan funds £28.566.009. Air Stevens traced the decline in unemployment and an expansion in private industiy.
