(Aus & N.Z. Cable Assn.) MILAN, October .16. The French cyclist, Maurice Richard, broke the hour’s unpaced world’s record, covering 45 kilometres 398 metres. He broke nine other world’s records in the course of tho ride. OPPERMAN’S GREAT RIDE. SA'DNEY, October 18. Hubert. Opperman cycled from Brisbane to Sydney on a. non-stop ride, a distance of 651 miles, in forty-seven hours ten minutes, thus breaking the record by forty-five hours nine minutes. Opperman was so overcome by fatigue ' that he had to be held up 'while” a % laurel wreath was placed around his neck. The previous record of ninety:wo hours nineteen minutes was estaV lished by’Les Cecil iu 1926.
