FOUND DROWNED
Dunedin Woman (Per Press Association), INVERCARGILL, October IG. The body of Isabella Beck, married aged about 45, was recovered from' Mataura River, near Lumsden, this afternoon. Mrs Beck, who resided at 183, Carroll Street. Dunedin, was a visitor to Athol, where she had been staying with her brother-in-law, E. J. Callender, for the past two weeks. Last evening she went for a walk, and when she did not return, a search was begun, ending with tho finding of her body this afternoon. DUNEDIN MAN. IN WELLINGTON HARBOUR. WELLINGTON, October 16. A dead man was found floating in Wellington harbour in tho neighbourhood of Tearo Baths, this afternoon It is believed he was William Broadbent, of Dunedin, but. the body has not vet been definitely identified. The body is that of a small-built, dark man, about. sft. 7ins. in height, with the hair turning grey. It was fully dressed, with a grey overcoat, a suit of brown, boots. In one of the pockets were two receipts bearing the name of William Broadbent. The body is in an advanced state of decomposition. It appears to have been in the water for about three weeks.
