The Melson Harbour Troarn at thiweek’s meeting decided to terminate the appointment of Captain 11. Collins (Harbourmaster), ns from December 31. Captain Collins has. been chief pilot at Nelson since October. 1904. and piloted the first steamer through the; new cut in the Boulder Bank in 1906. The chairman (Air A. Gould) stated that whilst the board regretted terminating Captain Co’ lins’ appointment, they had receive medical wh’ch indicated that the board would not be .justified iretaining the services of Capta’n Co'lin.i. A resobit'on of appreculTion of Captain Collins’ long service was carried.
