Rebels Prepare Attack CAPITAL’S COMMUNICATIONS THREATENED. (Received October 15, at 10.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 14. The calm before the storm continues on the Madrid front, though the Government forces continue to make coun-ter-attacks elsewhere, so as to prevent the rebels from completing the preparations for their offensive. The rebel air force activity is most marked. Pilots are arriving at their bases every day, preparatory to attack. The rebels, advancing from giguenza, are now within three miles of Guadalajara. They are threatening Madrid’s communications. There have been heavy snowfalls on the Guadarrama mountains. where there are no dug-outs, and the troops are sleeping in rough shelters, made of rocks and pines.
