WEST COAST SOCIETY. At a committee meeting of the West Coast Horticultural Society, Mr F. A. Kitchingham presided. A statem'c-tot inf the society’s finances to date was received, and accounts in connection with the recent Daffodil Show were passed. The statement diseloseid that membership was again maintained this year, several new members having been received. The in connection with the Chrysanthemum and Daffodil Shows have been assisted by the donation of trophies of plants, etc., which will, it is hoped, create a closer friendship amongst members. Donors of cups and prize-money in kind I’ ol ' the Daffodil Show were thanked. It was decided to continue aftilia tion with the Canterbury Society and the Rovak 1 Society, application to be made to the latter for the Banksian Bronze Medal, which will,, if approved by the Council, be awarded to the sweejt pea section at the Summer Show. The recommendation to hold a Summer Sho|w. incorporating a more comprehensive section for dahlias, was ap proved, the feature of the show tio be g'adioli, sweet pens, dahlias, cu* flowers, vegetables, etc.; date to be decided Ifater.
