Bush Preservation N.Z. CONFERENCE. AUCKLAND, October 13. It is reported that an inter-depart-m'enta] conference of executive heads dealing with local government, forestry. lands and agriculture, will shor'ly be held at Wellington to pla n a scheme for native bush preservation, and planing Dominion h'ghwa -s with trees. New Zealand’s centennial, three years distant, is said to have given the project an impetus. When approached, to-day, Mr. Parry said he was not yet able to give particulars of what was proposed but he could say the Government was sincere in the desire to see the native bush preserved for the people.
