There was a fair attendance at the usual meeting of the Greymoutli Group, Mr AV. S. Lowe presiding. The subject of the lecture was “Suggestion,’ 1 and those present carried out a- number of interesting experiments, testing weights, changes in (temperature and sense of smell, in which mental suggestion, given by the manner of the test, led members into deceiving themselves, and fully illustrated the subject of the lecture. Advice was received that Mr J. Johnston, M.A., Canterbury College, AV.E.A. tutor, would be present at the next meeting.

The approach of thc New Zealand Cup meeting was mentioned at last evening’s meeting of the Greymoutli Harbour Board last evening, when Mr <\. 11. McKane brought up the question of changing the date of the Board’s meeting. He said' that he did not know that the Board’s meeting might coincide with the Hospital Board’s monthly meeting' and whilst appreciative of the fact' that he was the last member to be appointed and wMild therefore have to fall in with the wishes of older members, he hoped that some arrangement might be come to, so that the meetings would not clash. “Our next meeting will be on New Zealand Cup dny,” said' Air J. Ryall, “and as a number of members will want to be there, I th’nk we should meet on the first Tuesday." That they would be going to the Cup meeting was laughingly denied by a number of members, but on the motion of Air P. J. AlcLean (Chairman), it was agreed that the next meeting be on November 3rd. The matter of future meetings was held over.
