Walkingshaw has returned to the Hill after being discharged from the Buller Hospital. Dr. Maxwell, of Millerton, is at present ass.sting in the Westport Hospital. Dr. Sampson,, of Ngakawau, is attending to Millerton and Stockton districts. Mesdames Mclntyre and Corbitt, of Millerton, • wero requested by the Stockton School Committee to act as judges at the children’s fancy dress ball. Millerton Caledonian Society is giving lovers of dance music an opportunity of hearing the Sergeant's Hil'il mouth organ orchestra at theii social and dance at Peggie’s Hall on October 23. Nurse E. Aladdison, of the Buller Hospital staff, underwent an operation on October 4, and is progressing favou rably. When the local junior Soccer team played Birchfield juniors on the hitter’s ground, the weather wa.s rather windy, making control >of th'' ball difficult. Nevertheless, a bright display -was witnessed,. the game ending in a draw, one goal each. Joe Cumming scored for the visitors, and W. Milligan fjor the home side.- Air C. Orman was referee.
