Grey Branch Meeting AEr P. O’Farrell (president) was in the chair at the monthly meeting of the Grevmouth branch of the New Zealand j. about Party hold last evening in the Lyceum Hall, over th'.’ty members be : ng present. The secretary, N.Z. Labour Party, forwarded a letter of thanks for the branch’s contr.button of £2 2s towards the Alanuknu by-e’ection campaign fund. The secretary's action in forwarding a telegram of congratulation on his success to Mr A. G. Osborne. AE.P. : was approved. A letter from AEr; Jas. Cusack. Ross, ask'ng for details as to. the formation of a brani-h of the party at Ross, was referred to the secretary for action. Accounts amounting to £‘G were passed foil payment. A total of 27 new members was ap]>rov(‘d for admission to the party. I'his number is a record for any monthly meeting of the party. The chairman said that the time had artived when the question of the installation of electric light and heating. and repairs to the Lyceum Hall shou’d be considered, and the rental charges revised. The branch had no building fund, and ■ f the matter was gone! into, snme means of making the present building more payable should lie considered. On his mot'oin a committee consisting of Ateses J. B. Kent. A. 11. MeKane. F. O’Neill, J. Guerin, L- D. Hutchison. J. Scott. R. AEah'ey, Hon. J. Goodall, and the moveq was set up tOi report to the next meeting on the matter. LABOUR BALL. The- secretary (Miss Alary Anderson’l reported on the activities of the Labour Ball Comin'ttee. It had been dee'ded to lin'd the function at Schaof's ltn’l on Labour nght (October 26 >. and ihe evening’s programme had hern fully arranged. Ihe eoiniiiiitee required further assistance with th 1 ’ :ii‘i;ingenients. and a number of members, \ 'bintooi'od their help. Wednesday next, at 7.30 p.m. On the chairman's motion, rt was unanimously agreed tie forward a letter of appreciation to the Prime Min ister (Rt. lion. Af. J. Savage), ex press'.ng approval of the Icgislatioi enacted by the Government since assuming office.
