(Our Own Correspondent.) Mr 8. A. Fry returned to Christchurch on Saturday. The whist drive held in the Taylorville School on Saturday nigh?, was won by Mr IL Moore Ist, and Mrs T. Morgan 2nd, A friendly football match wa.s played on the Taylorville. Recreation Ground on Sunday afternoon, in beautiful weather. Brunner Old Boys v. Brunner League Club. A good game resulted in a win for Old Boys, by 21 points to In- For the winners, tries were scored by Gage (2), Alofiii (2), and Eder, three of which were converted. P. Hoggarth,-A. Hog-garth and Sybe all scored tries for the losers. The game was ablj' controlled. by Mr IL Boust ridge. The winners showed surprisingly good form and quite a lot of good back movements were executed. Experience of the finer points led to most of the Old Boys’ points. A meeting of the Brunner Women’s Institute was held on Thursday evening, Miss Smeaton presiding- over a fair attendance. Brunner Old Boy's Annual Ball was held on Friday night, in the Wallsend Hall. It proved a greur success, both socially and The hall was beautifully decorated with red, white and blue streamers and balloons. The music was supplied by the Gaiety Orchestra. and a tribute of praise was paid to them by Messrs Wick and Carse on the occasion of their last appearance in public. Messrs D. Aloi’h ami E. Wick able carried out the duties of AI. The Monte Carlo Waltz was won by Miss L. Watson and Partner, and Mrs Hargreaves ami Partner; and the Lucky One-Step winners were Mr and Mrs M. Creagh.
