(To the Editor.) Sir, —Allow me space in your columns to po’.nt- out the following. At the last stop-work meeting of the
Watersiders’ Union, it was decided that for work on the Abel Tasman wreck the rate jwas to be 5s per hour, ns she was classified as .n< ship ,n port, 1 would like to ask the following question: Now that the ship :s sold, why is the Greymouth whar.flc cut on.? The bosun and another man -are given work, although the former, I understand. is drawing full wages until he is paid off at Sydney. Why the water-
siders (get none of the work is a Question- the owners of. the wreck should consider, as they are residents as well as the wateraiders, and mutual interests would point- io reciprocity in this matter, as in o hers. I am. etc., M. G PREENS.
